Week 19

Still not doing that well this week. Have managed to loose 2lbs but I've still been binge eating :(. Need to get back in the right mind set and a good week would help with that so this week I am determined. I am going out tonight but otherwise there is no excuse to not have a good week. I am keeping temptation out of the flat and determined not to sit and stuff my face on an evening.

Live Below the Line the last day

So we come to the end.After eating an extra slice of bread last night I was one short for breakfast this morning. I decided to make a double decker banana toastie. Weirdly this felt more filling that eating two separate toasties. I think this is mostly in my head because it looked more substantial. The ultimate cheap meal is supposedly a bread sandwich which is a slice of bread between two slices of bread and think my double decker toastie was one step away from that.

Today I've had beans on toast for lunch and Paella for dinner. I had some milk, jam and rice left over so for supper I'm making rice pudding with jam for flavor.

I've been hungry today but felt much better than I did earlier in the week. Still very tired though and struggling to think. I weighed myself on Monday morning and this morning and I've lost nearly 1lb a day eating like this which isn't something I'd recommend to anyone even if they want to loose weight.

I have some left overs. Lots of porridge and rice. Some pasta and jam and stock cubes. So if I had to do this for another week I could at least use those up and maybe have a bit of variety maybe even some fresh veg.

I was also contacted by Radio Merseyside for an interview. It was an interesting experience a really quick chat. I hope it came across OK. You can hear it here  it starts at about 1h 25 minutes.

I'm so glad that tomorrow I can get up and eat whatever I like. It just highlights how horrible it must be to not know if this is ever going to end. To wake up every morning still feeling tired and hungry. To have to go use the little energy you have to earn so little money it wont even buy enough food to stop you feeling hungry.

Week 17

This has been a bit of a weird week. Last week I gave blood on the Wednesday and this week I've been living on £1 a day so my weight loss is a bit all over the place. I weighed myself on Sunday and my weight had gone back up which I think is the effect of giving blood. My official loss for the week is 0.5lbs but I think its best to look at an average across the two weeks which would be 1.5lbs last week and the same this week.

Its also time to take stock of my progress:

Below the line Day 4

Breakfast

Porridge again. On the upside I'm feeling a lot better this morning. Still tired but dont have that wading through treacle feeling I've had for the last few days.

Dinner

There isn't much to say because it was exactly the same as the day 3 just in a different order. Porridge for breakfast, paella and pasta. The one thing I did do is have two slices of toast for supper instead of the planned 1 because I was hungry which means I am 1 slice of bread down for my last day.

I felt a lot better all day. My tummy was grumbling when it got to meal times but I wasn't yawning all day and had more energy think my body is adapting to the bad diet. Still needed an early night though so was lacking energy.


Live Below the Line Day 3

Breakfast



Porridge again this time with half a banana for flavour so a bit more expensive at 28p. Feeling really bad this morning think my body has just gone on strike. I wasn't even hungry when I woke up I felt sick.

But in better news I've gone past my fundraising target all the support I've been getting is keeping me going at the moment that and the thought that I'm nearly half way through.


Dinner


I didn't have time to blog at lunchtime so this is a double update. Lunch was pasta and sauce again and dinner was paella again. I'm having supper of a jam sandwich again. I've seen a few journalists blogging about living on £1 a day but what they mean is they are eating £1 worth of food they are eating different things at every meal which is just not possible. Individually none of my meals are bad its just I'm stuck with the same basic things all the time.

The day has been so hard I'm completely exhausted. I usually go to a dance class but I dont have the energy to do anything tonight. The whole day has felt like I was on a go slow.

Live Below the Line Day 2


Breakfast

Breakfast this morning was Banana Toastie. Costing all of 21p this is not a bad breakfast and gets some fresh fruit in which is something I was lacking yesterday. 

Mid Morning


I am so incredibly tired. I didn't manage to go swimming last night because I just didn't have the energy. Now this morning I can't stop yawning and feel like I'm wading through treacle. I've had a mid morning snack of a jam sandwich (6p) to try to get my energy levels up but now I'm worried at how quickly the loaf of bread is running out and I need to make sure I have 6 slices left for Friday or I'll be a couple of meals short.

Lunch

Yummy beans on toast for 18p. I've perked up a bit now dont feel quite as tired as I was earlier. Not sure how much of the tiredness is down to functioning without caffeine and how much is down to just not having the right fuel in my body.

Dinner


I was cooking pasta for tonights dinner and tomorrow's lunch and could have sat and ate it all. Even after eating dinner I'm feeling hungry and tired tonight. Its funny I've been keeping track of the calories I've been eating and its about what I normally eat (I am on a diet so its not the recommended daily amount) but I am feeling a lot hungrier and I'm feeling the difference eating low quality food.

I am going to have a slice of toast with jam (again) for supper but I only have 4 slices that I can eat before Friday so it is limited to one slice.
